"I bring the passion I have for the game to each lesson. I rely on past experiences and research to deliver educational and digestible lessons."
Andrew is from Wilkesboro, North Carolina. From a very early age, Andrew enjoyed spending time with his father on the golf course. "Dad is the reason I fell in love with this game. I remember him taking me to the course as soon as he would get off work and we would go to the course and play till dark."
It wasn't long after Andrew started writing the story to his career in golf. "My first tournament was at Glen Oaks Golf Club on the Tarheel Junior Golf Association (TYGA). I was in 6th grade and I still recall how nervous I was on the first tee."
Andrew's junior career is highlighted with multiple wins, numerous top 10 finishes, and 2 appearances at the TYGA Tournament of Champions.
As Andrew grew into his career. His sights were adjusted to playing on a collegiate level. "The road to college golf was not an easy one. It is a balance of playing in the right tournaments to gain exposure and proper experience." Before signing his letter of intent with Cape Fear Community College. Andrew capped off his high school career with 4 MVAC All Conference awards, 2 NCHSAA State Championship Appearances (T3 in the 2015 State Championship) and chairing a spot on the inaugural Tarheel Cup West Team.
After high school Andrew moved to Wilmington North Carolina, to play under scholarship for the Cape Fear Sea Devils. Andrew maintained a top 25 national ranking for DI NJCAA Golf during his time at Cape Fear.
Andrew started his professional relationship with Golf at Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach. "I started as an outside associate. My favorite part was being able to meet and interact with golfers from all backgrounds." As time passed Andrew sparked interest in teaching and player development. "My first golf lesson was given on November 14th, 2018 to one of my favorite members "Double K". I remember how nervous I was and now looking back how much I had to learn." Andrew grew into new opportunities where he moved on to Topgolf Myrtle Beach as the lead golf instructor. Logging over 2000 hours teaching and coaching during his tenure at Topgolf. "I loved every minute. I worked with a lot of beginners. This allowed me to introduce golf to many and be the ambassador I wanted to be for this great game."
Aside from working in Golf. Andrew has built an impressive resume as a professional golfer in a very short time. "My first professional start was at the 2021 South Carolina Open at TPC Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately that week ended as quickly as it came." It wasn't long after Andrew started to gain traction in the professional ranks. Andrew found himself in a three-way playoff for his first win as a professional in Kiawah Island. Unable to capture his first win. Andrew left Kiawah with a boost in confidence and a very valuable lesson learned. "I had been working so hard to get my game into competitive shape. Kiawah showed me that I wasn't far off and the hard work was paying off." Making his 3rd start at the 2022 South Carolina Open where he fired an opening round 66 and a final round of 67 (-9) to capture his first major victory.
Andrew continues to play with aspirations of competing with the worlds best players.
